Sovereign Seas Lite is a nautical combat war game which simulates the period from 1860–1870. Sovereign Seas Lite is intended for 2 or more players. Complexity is medium. Time to learn is from 30–45 minutes.
Sovereign Seas Lite is the early descendent of Queen Victoria’s Navy, a significantly updated and more refined game that covers naval combat from 1860 to 1906.
Players assume the role of either the British or the French in an attempt to meet the victory conditions of several different scenarios.
Sovereign Seas Lite uses EOR (see Designer’s Notes March ’97), so any kind of dice can be used in any combination.
The Addendum #1 for Sovereign Seas Lite is a collection of beta rules and Design Your Own information for the Sovereign Seas Lite game system. The addendum includes instructions for Design Your Own ship designs, the beta v. 3.0 rules of SSL, and the original ship lists from v. 1.0 of Sovereign Seas. This addendum is not a complete game and is intended as an unofficial supplement to the Sovereign Seas Lite game system.
